Graduation 2021
Graduation Day is a very special time for our School Leavers. It is a bittersweet occasion as we are so proud of all the achievements of our young adults but also feel so sad that we have to say farewell. This year was no exception. We gathered together in the garden, the sun shone for us and we had a very emotional day for our school graduates, Jack, Assad, Perfect and Leo.
We gathered together to celebrate these fabulous young men and lady, their wonderful achievements throughout their time spent in our school. We were also celebrating their achievement in receiving the first every Bronze Gaisce President's Awards for this school. Their other class friends, Matthew and Donal were also worthy recipients of this award. The Deputy Lord Mayor and Director of Operations of Fingal County Council were invited to present the awards. Not a dry eye in the house (garden !).
We listened to the lovely stories and messages from staff and families. We watched a gorgeous, and emotional video summary of their "best bits".
Graduation time is filled with bittersweet emotion for families and for staff alike. At the beginning of school life, there was so many questions and concerns - "Will they be nice to my child?; Will they mind her as I do?; Will they treat her with care and respect and love as she deserves?". As time moves, trust and relationships are fostered between families and the school, often developing very close bonds.
We always have one shared goal - for our pupils to grow and learn, to reach his or her potential and to have skills to prepare him or her for her adult life.
This school places great emphasis on love and friendship, on being part of a community and on developing skills to help each young person to flourish in life.
To our wonderful families, you have entrusted us with the most important thing in your life to us - Your child. We can't tell you how much we appreciate that and we thank you for sharing your child with us. We thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives.
Jack, Assad, Perfect and Leo, it's time to move on to pastures new.
We will miss you more than you know, but we will smile through the tears.
To our staff, thank you for your dedication, thoughtful planning (for these celebrations but throughout school life) and the time invested in the education of these fine young people. Remember:
